Badminton club Brief
March 22, 2019
If you are like me, I knew nothing about Badminton, much less that we have a stellar club on our campus. Let me pass on my new, albeit, very little knowledge on to our reader. Badminton is a racket sport that has players either playing in one on ones or in doubles like tennis. The main objective of the game is to score at least 21 points by hitting the shuttle onto the opposing player’s side of the court. Matches are also played two out of three. It is also a sport that is played at the Olympics. It is a very interesting sport that not many know of. Although tennis was around first, Badminton invented in India in the late 1800s and was about 10 years behind tennis being invented.
Gunderson Badminton Club is a great club all about playing, learning and meeting like-minded enthusiast of this really fun sport. The club is overseen by our wonderfully talented Spanish teacher, Mrs. Bradley in room N13. This unique club meets every Wednesday at lunchtime and they talk about upcoming events and games. Did you know that the badminton club has merchandise? They just released their first one of a kind Sweatshirt. They talk about adding more pieces for students and faculty to purchase as a fundraiser, as well as other upcoming unique fundraisers. If your a backyard pro, or a novice, come check out the one and only Gunderson Badminton Club, every Wednesday at lunch and expect a smashing good time.
